Born in the USA --- Made in China

Okay, let me just say this at the get-go. I am a consumer. Oh, sure--I try not to "shop till I drop" and reducing my personal debt is an ongoing process that I feel very strongly about but. . . . I STILL NEED STUFF. The laundry doesn't magically clean itself without soap (or a wash machine for that matter), our clothes periodically need replacing, we like to buy videos since we don't have cable or dish, but there's consumerism and there's CONSUMERISM.

I'm sick of every last little thing being "made in China!" I don't want to be owned by a government whose human rights and environmental activities are beyond the powers of negative language to adequately describe. In fact--I've had it up to my eyeballs with "made in China" to the point of now looking under or in everything I purchase to see where it's been manufactured. I haven't really thought I'd be able to purchase everything only made here in the states but I'm definitely boycotting China. I haven't looked into it yet, but I'd be willing to wager China is poised to dominate the world from an economic standpoint. As for me---I've had enough. I'm going to do my small part to promote small business, local business, and local (nationally speaking) manufacturing.
