Effing Papers and Reboot

There will be ranting--you've been warned.

I HATE writing fucking papers!!!! I hate it. It sucks. It sucks up my valuable time and no--in case you were wondering--writing papers does not actually make one smarter. READING the articles by which to facilitate the writing of the bastard papers makes one smarter--not the writing part. Oh sure, there are some folks out there who, mistakenly, might feel that by synthesizing information into paper format a researcher (read: Moron who got sucked into yet more coursework) can more fully demonstrate knowledge. I assert this is NOT SO. Indeed, I would be so bold as to propose that actually putting the new ideas one has read to use or--better yet--using the new information to construct a new methodology or schemata is a much better use of time.

BTW: Have I mentioned that I hate writing papers?

I could go on and on but I will not as I'm sure my ranting would swiftly degenerate into all all-out cuss-o-thon.

In other news: I feel like this blog needs a re-boot of some kind. I mean, I don't know if anyone reads it (which really isn't the point--so much) but I'm just not as jazzed about the thing as I once was. Is it that I've become a whore to the instant gratification that is twitter? Is is that I've become addicted to the inane quizzes on Facebook? I don't know--but I do know this:

SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE

When I've ascertained what that might be, I'll give a full (and VERY short) report on the matter.
